Community service or volunteerism enables students from different
ages to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide
a service to those who need it most. A large majority
of students who volunteer (95%) are motivated by a desire to find
compassion within themselves and to stay attached to values that are
linked to the common good, improve things or help
people. Volunteering provides a unique opportunity
for students during their time at school or university to make a
difference as well as developing their self-esteem, worth and become
active members of their community who will have a lasting, positive
impact on society at large.
